My Wellness and Flexibility Blog

Join me in exploring my own health and wellness, while also learning to better understand myself and others.

Welcome!

Hey everyone my name is Luke, and I am a personal trainer and strength coach at the YMCA in East Bridgewater. I am a junior here at BSU and I am excited to further my education in health and wellness through this course as well as learning from each and every one of my peers.

In this blog I plan to catalog my progress in attaining greater range of motion in my ankles (specifically my left one). I compete in powerlifting and one of the lifts we train for is the back squat. In the back squat you need a certain degree of ankle dorsiflexion to be able to hit the depth required by the federations in which I compete in. Years of wear and tear from playing sports, especially basketball and football, have led to a lack of range of motion in my talocrural joint (ankle) and I want to be able to squat pain free. My plan is to blog about what I am doing to fix it, as well as the progress I will make from the beginning of this class until the end. I hope you all enjoy my health and wellness related posts as well as my updates concerning my ankle.
